ANDARA Gallery is pleased to present “voICE”, the first exhibition by Canadian fine art photographer, Tara Wilkinson from her 1,322 KM journey circumnavigating ICELAND's magnificent Ring Road.

The first of many planned exhibitions, “voICE” features images of the alarming beauty of icebergs from the surrounding Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier ... part of Europe's largest ice cap, the Vatnajökull Glacier.

Tara will also be unveiling a unique photography collection titled "ICE CUBES."

Her exhibition also include images of Iceland's other diverse and spectacular landscapes - from moss and lava fields and deserts belching steam from deep within the earth, to lush valleys, snow covered mountain tops and quiet harbour inlets.

Iceland is filled with voICEs. You can hear them from far back in history through the telling of the Sagas. Some can hear the voices of the "Huldufolk" (Icelandic for "hidden people") ... elf-like beings in nature that inhabit a similar, parallel realm.

And there are the voICEs of Mother Nature ... being released from the melting ice, carried on the wind and through the thrashing ocean waves, whispers pouring over the landscape through its magnificent waterfalls.

You can hear these voICEs ... if you stop and listen.

From her journal, Tara scribed: "After having to cancel the trip three years ago due to the global pandemic, I could hardly believe I was finally here. We made our way along the south coast towards the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. As we crested a hill and I first saw the blue icebergs floating in the lagoon, my eyes flooded with tears. I had never seen anything so astoundingly beautiful.

We were soon bundled up in massive flotation suits and took a zodiac out to see the icebergs and the colossal glacier wall they broke away from up close.

As I looked across the lagoon that didn't exist just 30 years ago ... and I looked way up the massive ridge of the glacier looming above us, I realized we shouldn't be seeing this. We are all in a race against time.
