Artist Statement:
"I feel that we all have a spaceship in our imaginations (or that it can actually reside in the back yard). As children we build forts and yes spaceships too. It’s where we play and grow and have fun with our friends. Spaceships take you to new places in your yard or in your dreams. As adults we dream of getting away too, to go far and see what is out of reach, what is in the far beyond. In my painting I saw a giant spaceship that maybe you could build as a kid. Yes, it would be made from found objects - bit and pieces of wood, metal and stuff. It would all be held together with nails and rope - not really sure how - but it would work, because it just would. It’s all about trusting that you can build it, to make something you can pretend to fly away in, with friends." |

The 2013 vintage was a miracle year in Prince Edward County for Burgundian varietals, underlining that the essence of our vineyards are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Cold, late and wet early on, it was a study in stoicism and faith that farming teaches; that the weather would eventually break our way.
