Design incorporates features of vineyard life in the County

On Sunday, July 19, 2026 , Sandbanks Estate Winery and artist, Andrew Csafordi of ANDARA Gallery on Prince Edward County unveiled a large specially-commissioned outdoor mural at the winery on Loyalist Parkway in Wellington in honour of its 25th Anniversary.
The colourful mural is 8 feet high by 12 feet wide and is mounted on the west exterior of the Tasting Boutique. The design features 5 wine bottle shapes most often found at the winery, containing white, red, sparkling and rose wines. Illustrated details on and around the bottles reflect the many offerings at the winery … from tastings, charcuterie boards, wine flights and the food truck, to the winery’s colourful Adirondack chairs, dog park, art and music offerings … and a nod to its location on Highway 33 and agricultural heritage. Since July, 2023, ANDARA Gallery has been the exclusive curator and provider of fine art paintings by Andrew Csafordi and photography by Tara Wilkinson in the Sandbanks Estate Winery Tasting Room, Wine Boutique and Private Tasting Bar. Visitors to Sandbanks Estate Winery can purchase any works of art they see on display. In turn, ANDARA Gallery provides their clients with a complimentary Tasting Passport to enjoy at Sandbanks Estate Winery (a value of $20). I was honoured when the team at Sandbanks Estate Winery invited me to create this mural for them, says Andrew Csafordi, Co-Owner/Artist of ANDARA Gallery. “It is big, bright, bold and full of details – highlighting all there is to enjoy at one of the County’s most established wineries. Good design has always been part of the way I see all things, and create art. ABOUT SANDBANKS ESTATE WINERY
In 2001, Founder Catherine Langlois purchased and planted 5+ acres of vines along the picturesque shores of Lake Ontario. Her first harvest was completed in 2003 when she produced 150 cases of Baco Noir, which she sold exclusively to restaurants and bars in the local area. In 2004, she opened a wine boutique in the basement of her home that was built on the property. In 2007, PEC became a VQA designated area and the following year, Sandbanks Estate Winery received their first listings in the LCBO. In 2020, Sandbanks was purchased by ARTERRA Wines Canada. Today, there are over 30 brands in total, with 16 of those brands at the LCBO. Sandbanks Estate Winery offers a tasting room and boutique, a barrel room, unique tasting experiences, large outdoor picnic area with tasting bars, a food truck and calendar packed with lively events year-round.
