Born in Norwich, England, Pauline Dinham lived and worked as a registered nurse in the U.K., Zambia and Kenya before immigrating to Canada with her husband and young children.
Longing for space and tranquility after 30 years in “the big city” of Toronto, Pauline and her husband retired to the County in 2006. She knew she was truly “home” the day they moved to Wilson Road and walked the perimeter of their garden. What she loves most about living here is the strong sense of community. An award-winning artists, her happiest times while living here are when she is in her studio space just being in the moment working on her latest great “masterpiece” … whether it be a work of fibre, sculpture, knitting, painting or jewellery. Pauline enjoys volunteering for the Hospital Auxillary through the Second Time Around Shop in Picton. She feels the construction of the new hospital is the most important thing happening in the County right now as our population continues to grow and to age. There’s a saying: “Follow the path that wants to emerge.” When asked what that that has been for Pauline while living here, she replied, “Having the time and space to be able to try it all … and sometimes be happy with the results!” Most importantly, Pauline’s achieved a major milestone: “I think while living here I have finally got to know who I really am and that is important. I think my ancestors would be happy with that. |
