ANDREW CSAFORDI I ARTIST
Fine Art Encaustic Paintings
Csafordi is a master of the ancient technique of encaustic painting - using rich layers of pure beeswax, damar tree resin and dry pigments or oils, as well as fibre, wood, metal and other materials to create his unique painting style.
Realistic at times, impressionistic at other times, Csafordi creates textured paintings that call out to be touched. Andrew’s contemporary work invites the viewer to become explorers within his luminous compositions. Each work takes you on an imaginative voyage. Andrew Csafordi’s encaustic painting “The Solitary Wanderer Sings” (SOLD) invites one to be among the shadows of its many grooves and crevices. Drawing inspiration from the wisdom of the trees and landscape, Csafordi melted and carved into the depths of the wax to create sculptural and textural elements.

Charming Art Gallery!
While in Prince Edward County, my husband and I visited Andara Gallery on the recommendation of many. We're so glad we did! We were greeted by Andrew, one of the two artists displaying work in the uniquely striped gallery. He kindly explained the techniques of encaustic painting (his work) and also talked about the other artist's equally impressive photographic work (his wife's). In addition, we toured his century barn which was a treasure-trove of their work. We were charmed both by the art and by Andrew's personality and would highly recommend a visit and/or a hands-on workshop. Martha R |
