Arizona is astounding. In the morning, you can be in Phoenix enjoying 88 degree weather, and later the same day, be standing at the Grand Canyon staring into the abyss wishing you had brought a warmer coat and a pair of mittens with you," she noted. ​

For a photographer, light is everything … but what also struck me most about Arizona were the colours - of the sand, the buttes, vegetation, the walls of the canyons, the blue endless sky. Arizona is ​eye-candy for the spirit.

​With each passing hour of the journey, the landscape reveals more of itself. From the jewel-toned desert with its tumbleweeds and almost animated Saguaro Cactus, the astounding red rock formations of Sedona, through the Oak Creek Canyon and Coconino National Forest with its Ponderosa Pines … to the grand dame of them all: the Grand Canyon. The painted desert waits just beyond where the wide open road is ready to take your breath away. ​​
