TREETOPIA I INTRODUCTION
For their Fall art exhibition, their mutual love of trees made it a “natural”. The Co-owners of ANDARA Gallery in Prince Edward County are pleased to present “TREETOPIA”, an exhibition and sale of paintings and photography that celebrates trees and the connectedness we all feel for them, the important role they play in our lives, our memories and sustaining life on this planet.
“TREETOPIA” runs from September 15th to November 7th, 2021 at ANDARA Gallery 54 Wilson Road, Bloomfield in the heart of Prince Edward County. The Gallery is open 11AM to 5 PM daily, year-round.
On Saturday, September 18th at 11 AM, the first 54 visitors to ANDARA Gallery’s “TREETOPIA” Exhibition will receive a tree sapling in exchange for a donation to Quinte Conservation.
Saplings will be available first come, first served.
All funds raised will go to Community Stewardship and Tree Planting Programs
in Prince Edward County.
For this show, encaustic painter, Andrew Csafordi, has created masterful new contemporary paintings that command as much attention as the trees themselves. Andrew initially creates sketches either from memory or while observing the landscape. He then creates a fusion of layers of colourful beeswax and mixed media on wood panels with energy and imagination, working back and forth across the board, sculpting the wax with brushes, carving the wax with various tools.
Fine art photographer, Tara Wilkinson quietly observes each tree from every angle – it’s movements in the wind, the attention it commands with its powerful trunk, expansive branches, canopy and height. She watches the changing sky and light around it. Back in her studio, Tara will at times explore the potential of digital tools to transform a photograph into an altered artwork that can take your breath away and/or make your heart sing.
