Visual Journeys - Prince Edward County
Prince Edward County fine art photographer Tara Wilkinson takes the time to capture the details hidden from most. Bringing them into focus with a fresh perspective allows the viewer to enjoy the most ordinary of moments. Tara has photographed in over 25 countries to date … and counting.
Her current show features images from around her island community of Prince Edward County ... from old charming barns to osprey in their habitat ... perched high atop a telephone pole, descending into the nest, soaring above the landscape and bringing home fresh fish for their offspring waiting in the nest.
Visual Journeys - Newfoundland
September 20-November 19, 2019
Tara's most recent show featured images from the tiny communities dotted along 1,800 km of Newfoundland coastline … all connected by the sea and the rugged beauty of the landscape … each village reflecting its struggles over time but also the resilience and determination of the people who live there.
Visual Journeys - AMORE
Tara's photography exhibition "Amore" debuted in 2016 at the Terrecello Winery in Prince Edward County. The exhibition celebrated not only her love of photography, but her love of Italy’s astounding beauty, culture and people.
The exhibition then opened at Gallery 121 in Belleville before moving on to the Joseph D. Carrier Gallery in Toronto as part of the 2017 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. Her image "In the Light of Loneliness" of an elderly man shuffling home through a piazza in Venice, Italy won First Place (Visible World) at the 2016 CLIC Photo Show, and was voted winner of the People's Choice Award by visitors over the two-week exhibtion.
